Firmware update for Sony Xperia Z, ZL and ZR started rolling out

Sony rolling out firmware update for the Xperia Z, ZL and ZR smartphones. This update is based on Android 4.3.Which brings several improvements to Bluetooth connectivity, battery, YouTube app and other software.

The update will also be available soon for the Xperia Tablet Z as well, with the ETA to be announced some time next week.

CyanogenMod 11 for Sony Xperia M unofficially out now

Hello, Sony Xperia M users we got some good news for you.An unofficial CyanogenMod 11 based on Android 4.4 KitKat is available by XDA Developers and even though some features are still in development, the Xperia M users can now taste some KitKats.

It is not clear tha the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-running Sony Xperia M will ever get an official KitKat ROM or not. It's good to see someone out there is already working to deliver this experience.

LG sold three million G2 smartphones

As Yonhap News reported,  LG has sold three million G2 smartphones globally since the device's launch. It is higher than the previously reported two million units sold by the company.

Between August and September one million LG G2 units were sold. The rest of two million devices got into customers' hands in the last quarter of 2013. Out of the three million units, 900,000 are sold in South Korea.

It is cofirmed that the upcoming Oppo Find 7 will have a 5.5-inch with the first ever 2K resolution display on a mobile phone. The resolution of 2560 x 1440px on a screen with a adding of 5.5-inch diagonal 538 pixels per inch!

Wait, the company is also promising "a 5.5" screen with the feel of a 5" screen device", meaning that it will probably a super slim device.

While Samsung pushing their customers for wearable devices to pair with their higher end devices, one would expect another certain South Korean manufacturer to compete with.

It is rumored that, after the launch of the G3, LG will be releasing the G-Arch smart watch and the G-Arch fitness band. The names of the devices are self explanatory, so expect them to have features similar to the Galaxy Gear smart watch and Nike fuel band respectively. In fact, LG had a device akin to Nike's fitness recorder at CES 2013 called the Smart Activity Tracker, so they definitely do have their eyes on wearable tech.

Samsung Knox Software is vulnerable

The corporate world has migrated from the Blackberries of old to iOS and Android. The south korean smart phone maker Samsung created Knox, its own security software to protect Google's OS, and make it secure for business environments. However, a "serious defencenessless" has been found in Knox which could put users' data at risk.


As the cyber security researchers of Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, said that the emails and data communications on Samsung devices are among the data susceptible to the exploit. Hackers can track and record and the data which is supposed to be protected. And the worst part of the vulnerability is that a capable malicious attacker could insert hostile code via the breach, which can create system-wide harm.

The fault in Knox's digital armor was found earlier this month. Though the company has denied the severity of the vulnerability and has argued that the handset which was tested did not have all of Knox's features installed.
